'Blue fades into the invisible', Ovada, Oxford

2016

For the exhibition ‘Blue fades into the invisible’ I have made an installation inspired by a series of photographs I made on the beach. The photos show different abstract shapes which are contrasting with the natural environment. Inspired by these photographs I made a series of works with similar shapes and colours. In Ovada I have combined them to form an installation. All the works respond to each other and need each other to form a whole.

I feel that abstract work is sometimes distant to a viewer and I hope that the photos make the installation more open. I use the photographs as a footnote in order to show my working process, enabling that viewers can relate to the installation more easily.
